Thinking of the Beach for Summer?

As spring settles in and spring turns into summer, many Americans and people worldwide will be heading to the beach.  Are you thinking of the beach for summer?

The attached photo is one of my daughter, Eliana, enjoying the Governor’s Beach on Grand Turk of the Turks & Caicos Islands.  This was our fourth and last port of call on a Crown Princess cruise two Novembers ago.  You may be able to tell from the photo that Eliana loves the water.

As a family, we love the water and enjoy going to the beach.  That is one reason we look forward to cruising, because we normally get to visit at least two beaches on a cruise vacation.

How about you?  Do you love the beach?  Do you have a favorite beach?  To be frank, I love the beaches in the Caribbean.  As for beaches in the United States (those that I’ve visited), I prefer those on the Gulf of Mexico side.

So, are you thinking of the beach this summer?  Which one will you visit?

The fact is that there are many beaches from which to choose.  There are also many family-friendly resorts to go along with the beaches.  Plan well in advance and get some help finding an affordable and exciting family getaway package.

Go have fun!

Carnival Cruise Line Is The Winner!

If you have never cruised, I want to encourage you to give it shot.  I believe that you will discover that cruising is really a fantastic way to spend a vacation.

Whenever you decide to cruise, there will be many options in cruise lines from which to choose.  However, I want to make a particular recommendation.

If you are cruising for the first time, try Carnival Cruise Lines.  Their emphasis is “fun” for all; hence their ships are called “Fun Ships.”  You will find that there is something for people of all age groups to do onboard.

If you want a cruise line that offers the best prices on cruise packages, go with Carnival.  Dollar for dollar, they consistently offer the best rates at sea.

If you are looking to sail at any time to the Caribbean, try Carnival.  They offer several year-round itineraries to Caribbean ports of call.

If you want a cruise line that visits any area of the Caribbean, try Carnival.  You will find itineraries to the Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean islands, as well as to the Bahamas and Mexico ports.

Worried about what your kids will do?  Carnival has one of the best youth programs at sea.

Are you new to cruising?  Carnival Cruise Lines will welcome you with open arms and give you a great time at sea.

By the way, if you are interested in joining an already established group cruise booking in July, see my website for a 7-day cruise to the south-eastern Caribbean.  Here is the link:  It would be great to have you join me.

Whichever Carnival cruise you choose to do, go have fun, and I hope to see you on the high seas.

Plan Your Bahamas Vacation Elsewhere

Whenever people think about a Bahamas vacation, they are thinking of either a cruise ship vacation to one or two islands, or a planned stay at a resort on Nassau or Paradise Island.

The most popular resorts in the Bahamas are either on Nassau or Paradise Island.  While that is good, there is an issue.  The fact that most people may visit the Atlantis, Riu Paradise Island, or Wyndham Resort, the prices tend to be outrageous.

There is a better way…  You can enjoy the beauty of the Bahamas – its beaches, natural paradise and provisions for many fun activities without visiting Nassau or Paradise Island.

There is another great tourist getaway in the Bahamas on the Grand Bahamas Island.  You might have heard of Freeport or Lucaya.  That is the main tourist area on this island and it is fast becoming quite popular.

Similar to all the fun you have elsewhere in the Bahamas, you will find the same things here, except for the Atlantis.  There is also one popular resort that you must consider for your Bahamas vacation – the Grand Lucayan.  You will be happy with the price you pay here, plus all the fun things you get to do.  Learn more about the Grand Bahama Island and the Grand Lucayan here:

Plan your next Bahamas vacation elsewhere besides Nassau and Paradise Island.  Save plus have an equal amount of fun.

Go have fun!

Why Would You Pay 2-3 Times More for a Disney Cruise?

If you are hoping to cruise in the future, please consider this question:  Why would you pay 2 to 3 times more for a Disney Cruise?

The fact is that while Disney cruises visit similar ports of call like Carnival or Royal Caribbean, Disney’s prices are always more.

For example:  Some time ago I looked at a 3-day Disney and Carnival cruise to the Bahamas, sailing on April 3rd and this is what I found:

Carnival prices began at $279 per person for an inside cabin.

Disney prices began at $640 per person for the same inside cabin.

I picked another 4-day sailing for April 13th and this is what I found:

Carnival prices began at $329 per person for an inside cabin.

Disney prices began at $1,353 per person for the same inside cabin.

Tell me, why would someone pay 2 to 3 times more for the Disney cruise?  The answer – the Name.  Have you heard the question: What’s in a name?

The Disney name is known for fun, fun and more fun.  Hence, people are willing to shell out more money to spend on a Disney cruise.  Despite the difference in prices with other cruise lines, Disney cruises remain popular.

People live for the thrill of sailing with Disney characters, the friendly and exciting atmosphere and the great program activities for kids of all ages.

If you desire to book a Disney cruise, I would not stop you.  In fact, I would say “Go for it!”  However, I would also nudge you to consider saving on another cruise ship, heading to the same ports of call.

Happy sailing!

Vacation for Kids With Autism

I am not sure if you are aware of this, but there are several people who have children with autism.  You may even know someone with an autistic child.

What you also know about this situation is that these parents and children do their best to have fun and make a great life for the young ones.  However, life sometimes gets overwhelming.

Thankfully, there are many support groups for autistic children and many provisions are made to ensure that both parents and children have a chance at the best that’s available.

One such resource is a cruise for children with autism.  One of my travel agency’s partners offers a great cruising experience especially for these families.  The cruise gives them a chance to relax with their children, meet other parents like themselves, build social networks and gives the children a chance at fun on the high sea.

It is a great plan and one that any family experiencing autism should consider.

If you or someone you know may be interested, please send an email to and I will get the complete details of this cruise for families with autism to you.  I will also be excited to help you work out the details of the trip, if you plan to go.

Take a break and have more fun!

Would Your Family Cruise If You Had this Guarantee?

It is interesting to note the various reasons why some people would not cruise.

From a fear of the water, a desire to avoid crowds, or simply thinking that the cost of cruising is unreachable, people stay away from this great type of vacation – the best kind of family fun getaway.

What if you had some sort of guarantee about your trip?  Would that compel you to cruise?  What if the guarantee includes giving you back all of your money and some?

Guess what?  Carnival Cruise Lines has such a guarantee.

With competition so high among the top cruise lines, Carnival has introduced the Great Vacation Guarantee.

They believe that you will have such a wonderful time at sea and will want to enjoy every minute of it.  However, should you feel that your cruise is not going as you expected, Carnival will send you home and refund your money - 110% of the cost.

So, within 24 hours of leaving port, if you decide that this is no fun, you can visit the Purser’s Desk and tell them you want to get off the ship.  Carnival will arrange for this to happen at the first port of call from which you can travel home.  The cruise line will make complimentary arrangements to get your family home or back to the departure port, if you left your car there.

By the way, Carnival will even throw in some onboard credit, if you plan to cruise with them within a year.

How is that for a great vacation guarantee?  Now you can book a Carnival family cruise getaway with greater assurance that no matter what happens, you will come out the winner.

So, would you cruise, if you had this guarantee?  Carnival wants you to and I hope you will.

Have Tried Exploring Any Disney Park?

Have you been to Disney World in Orlando or Disneyland out west?  Have you explored all of any one Disney park?

We have been to Disney World in Orlando twice and each time had the plan to explore all of one park per day.  On our first trip, when we tried to get a feel for the place and did park hopping.  It was understandable that we did not see everything at any of the parks.

However, on the second visit we bought one ticket per park.  We should have simply started from where we left off on the first trip so that we could finish the park, but that did not happen.

We got in, remembered the fun we had at certain attractions and went to them again.  Before long, we realized that the day was almost over and we still did not see everything.  One thing which was certain was that we were pretty exhausted in the end.

How about you?  Have you explored all of any one Disney park?  Is that even possible?

If you haven’t been to Disney World, I hope that you will plan to.  The ticket prices continue to climb, but you should save for a period of time and give your kids this experience.  You both will enjoy it.

By the way, in an effort to save money on any Orlando vacation consider visiting one Disney park per visit and add other less expensive attractions.  Did you know that for about the price of one Disney World ticket you can get access to two SeaWorld parks?

Think about it and check it out…

Whatever you do, go have fun with !
